Scotland is in the midst of a cultural revolution.

More and more of us are coming to understand the impact of childhood distress on adult health and happiness.

Since 2017, thousands of Scots have joined in this national discussion. Our events bring international speakers who can help in exploring key themes that arise from this discussion. Together we can create the conditions needed to boost prevention and healing from childhood suffering.

Our goal remains helping every single citizen of our country to better understand the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACES).

We never forget that relationships are key to prevention and recovery from trauma.

We believe in the transformative power of compassion.

There are only 5 million of us in Scotland.

We can do this.

Stay tuned for news of our 2024 event!

The sciences of ACEs & Attachment: Their shared history in Scotland

Why does a society need to focus on ensuring children have warm, attentive relationships with adults? Why is that crucial for healthy emotional development? These are the questions Simon Partridge and Suzanne Zeedyk addressed in a set of papers they published in 2021. Because the articles appeared in an academic journal, many members of the public missed their publication. This document was created in 2023 in order to help a wider audience share in discussions about the links between the sciences of ACEs and attachment.
