ACEs & Human Rights

Is tackling adverse childhood experiences a matter of human rights?  This is a good time to consider that question, as Scotland works to implement the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).  Please join us as two of the country’s leading voices in that campaign offer their perspective on ACES.  Mary Glasgow is the CEO of the charity Children 1^st, which has worked to embed a trauma-informed approach throughout their entire organisation.  Juliet Harris is Director of Together, the Scottish Alliance for Children’s Rights, with a membership of over 380 children’s organisations and professionals. She describes herself as ‘all about children’s rights’.  Both see tackling adversities as fundamental to children’s rights to be treated with dignity and supported to develop to their full potential.
